We have been in the business of analyzing legal spend for 10+ years.  In the past 10 years we have processed and analyzed invoices in excess of $1B of value, from thousands of law firms.  This has always been and continues to be our business; this is all we do.

Professional Legal Experience

Our company was founded and continues to be managed by a member of the California Bar.  While in private practice, Richard Hall/founder,  coupled his passion for technology with the desire to address what he believed to be areas for reform in the legal profession: the manner in which legal services are managed and delivered. 

Combining practical legal firm experience with other Hall's Benchmarks' attorneys, we continue to evolve our services from the understanding of the inter-working between inside and outside counsel.

Court Test Standards

Court tested standards of invoicing practices are the backbone of the analytical work we do in measuring the fiscal health of your legal spend. Using the American Bar Association's Model Rules of Professional Conduct (ABA MRPC) and its significant case history, we are able to determine inappropriate billing practices and areas for investigation.

Classifying your legal spend, we use the Uniform Task Based Management System (UTBMS) for managerial accounting. This allows us to report your legal spend in a variety of ways; outlining for you in a clear, easy to understand format how your legal spend is being used.
 

Consistent and Objective Analysis
By means of the technology we employ, including our proprietary linguistic analysis, we apply consistent, objective, and highly accurate coding and analysis to each invoice we process.

The combination of the ABA - MRPC, UTBMS , and our linguistics analysis and associated technology, provides a highly effective process for identifying billing irregularities and measuring the means in which your legal dollars are spent.
